For years one of my hobbies has been to seek out old tiki mugs from 1960’s era Polynesian restaurants. How odd and charming that ceramicists put these dramatic and expressive faces on mugs for drinking! This zine makes a totem of some of the different faces from my collection.

I create the zines by making a pencil or ink drawing, copying the drawing onto colored art paper, then adding detail in white gouache on the final print, to make each zine truly unique, and cutting and folding to make the accordion. I tie a string to the top of each zine for possible hanging. Each zine goes in a clear envelope with a cover sheet, autographed on the back.
