For this zine I was inspired by pet portraits I’ve seen in antique and thrift shops for many years. Sad expressions on animals are always a big tug at the heartstrings for me, so all of these pups appear to need some love and attention!

I create the zines by making a pencil or ink drawing, copying the drawing onto colored art paper, then adding detail in white gouache on the final print, to make each zine truly unique, and cutting and folding to make the accordion. I tie a string to the top of each zine for possible hanging. Each zine goes in a clear envelope with a cover sheet, autographed on the back.
